If you currently have MDwise as your Medicaid insurance, there’s an important update you need to know. The State of Indiana has decided to end its contract with MDwise, which means MDwise will no longer be a Medicaid option in the state.
We know insurance changes can feel stressful, so we want to walk you through what this means — and what you need to do next.
You Will Not Lose Your Coverage
Your Medicaid benefits will stay active.
But you will need to choose a new Medicaid plan.
You’ll Need to Pick a New Health Plan
You can switch to any of these three plans:
- Managed Health Services (MHS)
- CareSource
- Anthem
You can make your choice anytime before December 15, 2025.
If you don’t pick a plan by then, the state will choose one for you. But don’t worry — even if that happens, you’ll still have 90 days after January 1, 2026 to switch to a different plan.
Your Treatment at Groups Will Still Be Covered
This is an important one — your care with Groups will not be interrupted.
Groups is in network with MHS, CareSource, and Anthem, so you can continue your recovery with no changes to your appointments, medication, or support.
You Will Receive a Letter With Next Steps
The State of Indiana will send you a letter explaining the change and giving instructions on how to choose your new plan.
