Groups and The Quell Foundation Partner to Address the Addiction Treatment Workforce Gap

The Quell Foundation

We’re excited to share that Groups has teamed up with The Quell Foundation through our Gift of Recovery program! This partnership will help improve access to mental health and addiction care, reduce stigma, and build a stronger mental health workforce.

Why This Matters

There aren’t enough addiction and mental health professionals in the U.S. By 2036, there could be a shortage of nearly 90,000 addiction counselors. The Quell Foundation’s Bridge the Gap program addresses this urgent need by giving future mental health professionals scholarships and mentorship. This support makes sure more counselors, providers, and peer support specialists are available to help individuals facing substance use disorders get the care they deserve.

How You Can Help

When someone joins Groups using your unique link (you can find it by signing up here or if you’re a member, in your Groups app), we donate to The Quell Foundation on your behalf. By sharing  Groups with your network, you:

  • Support scholarships for students studying addiction recovery and mental health.
  • Help fix the provider shortage by training new mental health professionals.
  • Create lasting change by supporting people and communities in need.

Our Impact So Far:

  • In 2024, Groups raised $30,000 for Shatterproof through the Gift of Recovery program.
  • The Quell Foundation has awarded 1,800+ scholarships since it began.
